Visit from project partner Industry Museum Akureiry, 13 – 16 October

Representatives of the Dalesice Brewery welcomed representatives of the Icelandic project partner, Industry Museum Akureyri.The colleagues participated in the preparations for Saturday events, focusing onthe exchange of experience and best practice sharing activities.

The head-brewer showed them the tour of the new brewery, prepared for the visitors. This was the opportunity to discuss the topic and design of the tour and exchange best practice. A valuable contribution expressed by the Icelandic colleagues emphasizedthe importance of engaging varioushuman senses when building up the innovative museum exhibitions and tours, namely the sense of smell. They also introduced the brewery representatives to the possibilities of incorporating otherinnovative elements and showed concrete cases fromthe museums in Iceland. Sharing of best practice will continue during the visit to Iceland planned for 2023.

Furthermore, a discussion on the organisation and content of the upcoming events took place thanks to the active participation of the Icelandic partner´s representatives. Concretely,the programme and some of the activities related to the prepared Advent event were addressed.

Moreover, within the framework of exploring and discussing new approaches in creating exhibitions, the Icelandic representatives together with the Czech colleagues visitedthe Castle in Třebíč (town close to Dalešice), where an interactive exhibition "Journeys through time" was taking place. The tour introduced visitors to crafts almost unknown today, such as beadmaker or fringe-maker. The visit offered a room for further discussions about the concept of exhibitions that can beapplied not only in Czechia.Alsocolleagues from Iceland drew some inspirational tips they might base on when designing the exhibitions.
